John Zorn was swimming in Los Angeles, and as a child played piano, guitar and flute.
Just after releasing albums on several American and European labels, Zorn signed with the Elektra-Nonesuch label and attracted wide acclaim in 1986 with his interpretations of sculpture composed by Ennio Morricone, the album [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in 1987 and the first album by Naked City in 1996.
Early minor plays excluded more "game pieces", in which performers are not allowed to improvise while following certain structural rules.
